Universal Peace Foundation Europe e.V. Minute of Peace — the daily practice →

Our guiding idea

Universal peace begins with one person.

Peace is not an agreement between states. It begins in a single person who becomes still for a moment — and it spreads from there: into the family, the team, the neighbourhood, the society.

So we do one thing, and we do it consistently: we bring people to a daily practice of stillness, breath and attention. At 11:11, anywhere in the world, for one minute. And we carry the same practice into the places where people spend their days — companies and communities.

Several hands holding a globe together.

What we do

Two paths, one aim

For a minute to become a habit, there have to be places where people practise. So we work in two fields — with companies and with communities.

  • Corporate

We come to where the pressure is: offices, plants and teams. Short impulses, guided series and formats for leaders — on site or online, in German or English.

    Programmes for companies →
  • Community

Open sessions for anyone who wants to come: meditation, breath practice, offerings for children and young people, and a longer in-depth course. Free of charge, no experience, no creed.

For companies

Four formats for the working day

Every format is secular, needs no equipment, and works in an ordinary meeting room.

  • Impulse · 60 minutes

A single session for one team: what stillness does to a mind, one guided practice, time for questions.

  • Series · 6 weeks

One guided session a week, the daily minute in between. That builds a habit rather than an experience.

  • Leadership retreat

Half a day or a full day away from the site: attention, breath, and decisions made under pressure.

  • Online sessions

Short guided sessions for distributed teams, easy to place in the calendar, with no travel time.

For the community

Four ways, one practice

Every offering is open to people with no prior experience. Nothing to bring, nothing to believe.

    Peace Meditation

A thirty-minute guided session in stillness and attention. No experience needed, nothing to bring.

    Breath Practice

Simple, slow breathing you can use on a train, before a meeting, or at the end of a difficult day.

  • Children and youth

Age-appropriate sessions in movement, breath and focus, run by trained volunteers holding extended criminal-record certificates.

Experience

Airbus

In an engineering environment, what counts is whether something works. That is exactly where we tested our formats: short guided sessions in the middle of the working day, voluntary, secular, in an ordinary room next to the desks.

What we learned there shapes every corporate format today: keep it short, come back regularly, and promise nothing the practice does not show by itself.

Heritage

Where the practice comes from

Our practice comes from the teachings of Gnanavallal Paranjothi Mahan, carried forward by Gurumahan. It asks for no belief and no conversion. What we teach in Europe is what we practise: attention, breath, and the daily willingness to begin again.
